Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed deep sorrow and outrage over the loss of lives in a statement shared on X.

“Tragic news has been received of several people dying due to consuming poisonous liquor in some villages around Majitha. These killers of innocent people will not be spared at any cost. These are not deaths, they are murders. The culprits who have caused mourning in people’s homes due to poisonous liquor will be given the strictest punishments as per the law,” he stated.

Mann also extended his condolences to the affected families, saying, “I pray to the Almighty for the spiritual peace of the departed souls. The government stands with the families and every possible help will be provided.”
