Panaji: Even after a week, the investigation into the robbery at the Dempo family residence at Dona Paula did not make any progress. The Panaji police are still clueless about the suspect.
They checked all the CCTV footage around the place but did not find any clues to nab the accused.
A senior police officer said that to date, the Dempo family has not revealed the exact items missing from the home and the amount stolen by the thieves.
Police suspect that an interstate gang must have been behind the robbery.
TOI reported that robbers took advantage of blind spots at Dona Paula to evade police detection after carrying out a robbery at a Dempo family residence. The CCTV cameras did not capture the entry and exit of the masked robbers from the vicinity.
Panaji police started examining all vehicles that passed by the house to zero in on the accused, but they could not identify any vehicle that might have been involved in the case. Police questioned the caretaker-cum-security, a Nepali national, to get leads to solve the case. The security guard said that he saw around six to seven persons wearing masks enter the house, assault him, and tie him up.
Goa police constituted multiple teams comprising the crime branch and other local police stations to nab the accused.
An elderly couple from the Dempo family was

The accused entered the bungalow after assaulting the security guard. Upon entering the house, they tied Padmini and Jaiprakash. Police said that Jaiprakash recalled opening his eyes to see three persons standing in front of him.
