Delhi horror: Woman strangled, tied to stone and dumped in canal
NEW DELHI: A woman was allegedly kidnapped, murdered, and dumped in a drain in Delhi's Chhawla area. The body of the young woman, identified as Komal, was found inside a canal today. Delhi Police have arrested a man named Asif, the prime suspect in the murder case.
According to police sources, Asif had known Komal, a resident of Sundar Nagri, for a long time. On March 12, he picked her up from Seemapuri, and a dispute led to her brutal strangulation. Asif then tied her body to a stone and dumped it in the Chhawla canal.
The body began floating on March 17, alerting the police, who registered a murder case at the Chhawla police station. A kidnapping case had already been filed at the Seemapuri police station. Asif's vehicle has been seized, and authorities are investigating whether anyone else was involved in the crime.
