NEW DELHI: Bombay high court on Saturday has listed the writ petition of Disha Salian death case for hearing on April 2, 2025. The writ petition was filed by Disha Salian's father Satish Salian and was served to Sameer Wankhede.
Advocate Faizan Merchant, Advocate for Sameer Wankhede, has stated that his client is going to file a detailed affidavit in the High Court, which will answer all the points concerning his client.
Satish Salian approached the Bombay high court seeking a fresh investigation into his daughter’s mysterious death on June 8, 2020.
Disha Salian died on June 8, 2020, after reportedly falling from the 14th floor of a residential building in Mumbai’s Malad area. The Mumbai Police had registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) at that time. Just days later, on June 14, 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra apartment. While the city police initially termed Sushant’s death as a case of suicide, the investigation was later handed over to the CBI.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra's junior home minister Yogesh Kadam told the legislative assembly that the SIT probe into Disha Salian's death would be fast-tracked and "no one will be spared".
The statement was made as BJP and Shiv Sena MLAs sought to know when the SIT would conclude its probe. Their demand came a day after Disha's father prepared a petition to be filed in Bombay HC asking for a fresh probe into her death and "custodial interrogation" of Aaditya Thackeray in the case.
Opposition demand came a day after Disha’s father Satish prepared a petition to be filed in Bombay HC asking for a fresh probe into her death and “custodial interrogation” of Sena UBT MLA Aaditya Thackeray.
Kadam said SIT probe was ongoing and its report had not been submitted yet. “Salian’s father filed a petition in HC, state has also been made party to it. So once we get directions from HC, we will take stern and appropriate action. The law is the same for all, we will not spare anyone,” he said.
The issue was raised by BJP MLA Ameet Satam through a point of information and backed by Sena MLA Arjun Khotkar and Sena minister Shambhuraje Desai.
