WWE President Nick Khan has recently unveiled one of the most ambitious plans to develop WWE’s footprint in India in the year 2026-2027. The company’s president revealed that he is planning to launch a major premium live event (PLE) in India soon in the ensuing days.
Nick Khan has spoken about the significance of WWE in India and said that India ranks as the organization's second-largest market after the United States of America. Previously, WWE has expanded its horizon to other parts of the world under Triple H’s regime. However, the company is now planning a major flagship event for the Indian audience soon.

Nick Khan aims to launch a major WWE event in India

Nick Khan is planning to launch a major WWE event soon in India in 2026-2027. The WWE President revealed the company’s plan while promoting WWE’s arrival on Netflix in India.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, the WWE President said: “That's the goal, and we're pencilling out 2026 and 2027 now. In one of our first meetings with Netflix after the deal was signed. Without asking, Netflix handed us a list of their priority countries. At the top of that list was India. And knowing that the race would come into play on April 1 in India, if it's important to Netflix, assume it's important to us. India has always been important to us. So we're pencilling it out now, and let's wait and see.”
He further discussed how WWE in India is the second-most watched sport after cricket. Khan further stated, “During the media interaction, Nick Khan also spoke about how WWE is the second most-watched sport in India, only behind cricket. "WWE is the second most popular sport in India, behind cricket... There's multi-generational viewing. Families watch it together. Women and men watch it alone.” (source: Hindustan Times)
Triple H Has a BIG Announcement for WWE Fans 🔥 | Netflix India

Previously, WWE CCO Paul "Triple H" Levesque announced that all WWE shows will be available to the Indian audience on Netflix starting April 1st, 2025. From now on Indian audiences will have access to events such as WWE Monday Night RAW, SmackDown, NXT, and other premium live events. Netflix will replace Sony Sports Network and become the exclusive new home for WWE in India. This decision came after WWE's long-standing contract with Sony came to an end in March 2025.
This is not the first time that the company has hosted major events outside of the USA. The company successfully hosted major events in locations like the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia, and now it's busy with its European tour, catering to diverse markets and audience reach.
