As he heard some fans engaging in sledging from the stands, the power forward didn’t hold back and gave them a befitting reply. The incident soon made its way online, with NBA fans divided over AD’s actions.
Anthony Davis claps back at hecklers
Anthony Davis played a pivotal role in leading the Dallas Mavericks to victory in the playoff match. He dropped 27 points, pulled down 9 rebounds, and swatted 3 shots. The 32-year-old looked unhappy with the fans and went on to give them a loud and clear response. He said, “They wanna talk s—, let’s talk s—. Y’all know y’all lost… Y’all might wanna beat that traffic though.”
As soon as AD’s video landed online, NBA fans shared their opinions on his choice of words. A fan wrote on X, “Battling for the 8th seed got this man’s confidence up.” Another tweeted, “Talk that talk AD.” One more commented, “AD is not holding back! Respect to him for keeping it real with the Kings fans.” A comment also read: “Might wanna beat that traffic is crazy.” An X user also called it "mad disrespectful.”
Many NBA followers also made fun of him and teased him ahead of their crucial play-in elimination game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday. “Man hope he keep that same energy against the Grizz,” wrote an X user. “Imagine talking trash to fans when you are in a 9-10 game,” wrote another. One even went on to make fun of his adductor strain and wrote, “Bud gonna break a finger nail and be out for the playoffs.”
