The sudden exit of Colorado Rockies’ manager Bud Black and bench coach Mike Redmond has diverted the attention of the MLB world. After the recent game against the San Diego Padres, Colorado Rockies owner Dick Monfort went on to make massive changes in the front office of the team. Montfort issued a public statement addressing the recent change in the managerial department of the Rockies. During a post-game interview, Colorado Rockies’ third baseman Ryan McMahon reacted to the eviction of both Bud Black and Mike Redmond from the team. He said- “It might be a kick in the [posterior]. We’re in a spot where we need to make some moves and start doing some stuff, or else things like this are going to happen.”
Colorado Rockies’ general manager Bill Schmidt also reacted to the sudden move made by the owner Dick Monfort. He said- “Buddy showed up every day with energy, work ethic -- he’s a professional. I have the utmost respect for Buddy Black and Mike Redmond, both those guys. As Buddy would tell you, it’s part of the game and it happens. But we have to get better and move forward. We owe it to our fans to play better baseball.”The decision to revamp the managerial department came after the Colorado Rockies were subjected to consecutive defeats during the ongoing MLB season. The eight-game losing streak resulted in an embarrassing score rounding off to 7-33. The Rockies’ poor performance became the talking point in the MLB world during the 2025 season.
