After India banned 118 Chinese apps, including popular video game PUBG, gamers all over India are upset with the Indian Government. "When everything was under lockdown, PUBG's interactive features gave me a semblance of real-world social tolerance. It was a stress-buster for me," said Mustafa Scentwala, 26 from Mumbai. India's technology ministry said the apps were a threat to India's sovereignty and security. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar unveiled days after the ban, a home-grown competitor called FAU-G. The Bengaluru-based nCore games pledged to donate 20 per cent of its revenue to the Government's fund for paramilitary forces called Bharat Ke Veer set up after the 2019 Pulwama terror attack. Vishal Gondal, the investor, told Reuters, "This game was in the works for some months... In fact, the first level of the game is based on Galwan Valley." While Akshay Kumar tweeted, "Supporting PM @narendramodi's AtmaNirbhar movement, proud to present an action game, Fearless And United-Guards FAU-G. Besides entertainment, players will also learn about the sacrifices of our soldiers. 20% of the net revenue generated will be donated to @BharatKeVeer Trust #FAUG."
