Archana Puran Singh on Kapil Sharma being a private person; says ‘he is not comfortable with nine out of ten people’

Archana Puran Singh, who recently appeared as a special judge on The Great Indian Kapil Show, opened up about her long-standing bond with comedian Kapil Sharma. In an interview with SCREEN, the actress reflected on their evolving relationship, while also shedding light on Kapil’s private and reserved personality.Archana recalled their first professional interaction during Comedy Circus, where Kapil was a contestant and she was on the judges’ panel. “It was Comedy Circus where Kapil was a contestant like the other ten, our association started then. Who knew that it would carry so far?” she said, adding, “It was an association built on mutual respect. I was his senior and a judge on the show. From my side, the respect for him grew because I saw amazing talent. Whenever I see that, I bow down to it for being so pure and powerful.”Speaking about Kapil’s personality off-camera, Archana revealed, “Kapil is now so comfortable with me… he is not comfortable with nine out of ten people. He is a very reserved person in his private life. He likes to keep things very private—you won’t see him doing a lot of publicity or attending parties. He doesn’t go out much.”She further shared, “When he comes to my house, he is very comfortable. He is equally fine when I drop in at his place. Now our relationship has become very casual, it’s based on mutual admiration.”Archana also pointed out the bond they share through humour. “We both enjoy being around each other, we appreciate the same kind of humour. Though our upbringings have been completely different, we have connected and come together on a common platform of humour,” she concluded.Their camaraderie continues to charm audiences on and off screen.
