The film is about the life and work of the Palestinian war photojournalist Fatima Hassouna. Only a day after the festival’s lineup announcement and the film’s premiere announcement at the parallel ACID festival, Hassouna and 10 of her relatives were killed during an Israeli bombing, as per France 24.The interest around this film increased tenfold after the incident and due to public outrage as well. The much-anticipated documentary is directed by Iranian director Sepideh Farsi, who, in a statement to AFP, shared that she had believed that the war would’ve ended and Hassouna would’ve attended the event. She shared that "(Fatima Hassouna) would survive, that she would come (to Cannes), and that the war would stop. But reality caught up with us."Another major event to look out for this year is how many Hollywood stars who have accomplished a lot in the realm of acting have now entered the domain of directing films. One such celeb that you should be on the lookout for this year is Scarlett Johansson.
