Cop stabbed while controlling argument in Maharashtra's Bhayandar

A police constable, Kashinath Bhanuse, was stabbed while intervening in an argument by two local goons in Bhayandar West. The constable, who sustained injuries to his stomach and hands, is currently hospitalized. The suspects, Dilip Khadk and Kamlesh Gupta, have been arrested, and an FIR is being filed.

MIRA BHAYANDAR: A police constable who attempted to control an ongoing argument was stabbed by two local goons in Bhayandar West on Friday evening. The incident occurred in Shivsena Lane when the injured constable, attached to Bhayandar Police Station, was patrolling the streets.
Attack on the constable
Upon noticing the argument, the constable intervened, but one of the accused took out a knife and stabbed him before both suspects fled the scene. Locals immediately admitted the injured officer to a nearby hospital and alerted the local police station. Senior officers arrived at both the crime scene and the hospital to check on the injured constable, who is currently undergoing treatment.
Constable Identification
The injured constable has been identified as Kashinath Bhanuse. He sustained stab wounds to the stomach and knife injuries to his hands. The two attackers have been identified as Dilip Khadk and Kamlesh Gupta. Police have confirmed that both suspects have been arrested.
Police confirm FIR and investigation
"The constable is undergoing treatment and has received knife injuries to his hand and stomach," confirmed Deputy Commissioner of Police Prakash Gaikwad, MBVV Commissionerate. He further stated that the process of filing an FIR is underway and that both accused will be charged with attempted murder and other relevant sections under the Indian Penal Code.
Additionally, the police are conducting a medical examination to determine whether the accused were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Investigations are ongoing.
