Congress announces 'Samvidhan Bachao' rallies across country from April 25-30

The Congress party has announced a nationwide 'Samvidhan Bachao' (Save the Constitution) rally, commencing on April 25th and continuing through May. This multi-phase campaign includes state, district, and assembly-level rallies, culminating in a door-to-door outreach program. The initiative aims to promote social, political, and economic justice, echoing concerns raised during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections regarding the Constitution's preservation.

NEW DELHI: Congress on Saturday announced 'Samvidhan Bachao' (Save the Constitution) rallies in all the states across nation starting April 25 to 30.
The move is aimed "to drive home message of social, political, economic justice".
"Today, Congress President Shri Kharge held a meeting with all AICC General Secretaries, In-charges, and the Presidents of our frontal organisations.In this meeting, discussions were held on the resolution passed in Ahmedabad, Justice Path: Resolve, Dedication, Struggle," Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh said as he went on to inform the schedule of the rallies.
"Rahul Gandhi ji has launched the ‘Organisation Creation Campaign’ in Gujarat. The aim of this campaign is to further strengthen our district presidents.Our first step will be to appoint DCC presidents, for which there will be five observers in each district. Additionally, new presidents will be appointed by 31 May. In this regard, it was decided in the meeting that the ‘Organisation Creation Campaign’ will be organised in different states," he added.

The rally is set to be launched in multiple phases starting April 25. According to the campaign schedule, state-level rallies will be held from April 25 to 30, followed by district-level events from May 3 to 10. The campaign will then move to the assembly level between May 11 and 17. The final phase will involve a door-to-door outreach effort from May 20 to 30, aimed at raising awareness and support for the protection of constitutional values.
The opposition's rhetoric around the Constitution started during 2024 Lok Sabha elections when the INDIA bloc leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, accused the BJP-led central government of "destroying the Constitution".
